About the Session

On April 17, 2026, Glomo hosted the inaugural edition of Wiring the Future, a quarterly practitioner series on cross-border finance and payment infrastructure at GIFT IFSC. The session was held at Queens University Belfast's GIFT City Campus and streamed live to a global audience. The discussion brought together senior leaders from across the GIFT IFSC ecosystem - spanning brokerage, fund management, and fintech for an open conversation on the current state of cross-border investment infrastructure, the regulatory shifts enabling scale, and what still needs to be built.

What We Covered

Globalisation as an allocation decision — the Indian rupee has depreciated 20%+ against the USD in five years, making dollar-denominated exposure a structural necessity, not speculation

GIFT by the numbers — 200+ FMEs, 300+ registered schemes, $32B committed, $17B raised, and $106B in banking assets as of December 2025

Why GIFT over Singapore, Mauritius or Luxembourg — Indian law, Indian service providers, globally accessible jurisdiction, with retail fund launches now permitted under 2025 FME regulations

Infrastructure gaps that still matter — KYC friction, no common distributor certification, and SWIFT-based LRS settlement windows creating real friction for first-time retail investors

Partnership as the operating model — ecosystem growth requires regulators, banks, RTAs, KRAs, custodians, FMEs and fintechs moving in the same direction

Attended by broker-dealers, fund management entities, financial institutions, distributors, and service providers operating in or exploring GIFT IFSC.
The hybrid event was hosted at Queens University Belfast–GIFT City Campus Auditorium and streamed live to a global audience.
